Application of Solar Renewable Energy for Domestic Use
Al Istiklal Cooperative aims to promote the use of solar energy at the household level in order to reduce the pressure on natural forest of Dibeen by illegal loggers by installing 46 solar heater units and alter the traditional electricity devices with energy saving devices in 15 households.
The use of renewable energy on the household level in Mugbileh village used for heating purposes will contribute in preserving the national forest of Dibeen located close to project location by limiting the illegal logging also will contribute in the increase of Al Mugbileh local communitys' livelihood by saving the money paid for the energy resources bills such as electricity and fuel.
Dibeen Reserve will offer the technical assistance during the project implementation, in the raising awareness component specifically by offering several lectures about the environmental problems, renewable energy resources and the rationalization of conventional source of energy.
Al Istiklal Cooperative will contribute by 20,000 USD which equals the SGP grant amount. It?s worth mentioning that Al Istiklal contribution is the paybacks from the CBO SGP funded project (JOR/OP4/Y3/CORE/09/15).
