Utilizing solar energy in lightening two schools in Jinsafut
The project aim at reducing environmental pollution. In particular, the project will reduce Green House Gases Emissions by 26.5 tons as Carbon Dioxide per year. In addition, the project will contribute to reducing the beneficiaries? electricity bill by USD 4,200 per year.
The project will target two schools, 600 students and 45 teachers ?male and female?. General environmental awareness and educational workshops for the school students and community members will be conducted through the project. Teachers also will receive training on how to maintain the solar system.
The project will support carrying out the following activities:
? Conduct 3 educational training workshops on climate change and renewable energy.
? Document and disseminate the project results and print out 400 copies
? Conduct field survey, meetings, community focus groups to solicit the community, and teachers? opinion on the use of renewable energy.
? Carry out cost benefit analysis for the use of solar energy in lightening the project targeted areas
? Prepare solar system design and install solar unit energy with capacity ?22KWp?.
? Implement a final evaluation workshop at the end of the project period.
