The sun's energy for “SOS-Children's Village, Marjina Gorka”
Project goal ? Dissemination of positive experience of technologies using renewable energy sources introduction in educational and wardship institutions system in Puhovichi district, Minsk oblast on the example of «SOS-Children's Village, Marjina Gorka" to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and climate change mitigation.
Project tasks:
1. Reduce energy consumption through the introduction of a system of measures based on the recommendations of the audit of energy consumption
2. Implement a system of stand-alone photovoltaic plant to generate electricity in «SOS-Children's Village Marina Gorka"
3. Raise the level of knowledge about the possibilities of alternative energy and energy-saving development of skills through the organization of educational events
Expected long term results:
1. The system of self-powered photovoltaic facility to generate electricity in the SOS-Children's Village, Marjina Gorka, successfully operates with an annual output of energy not less than 21,000 kWh.
2. CO2 emissions reduced by at least 10% through the use of energy-saving technologies of solar energy for the activities of SOS-Children's Village, Marjina Gorka.
3. Cash savings will be at least 20% annually of the amount of energy costs, which will ensure the quality of services for orphans and children left without parental care provided by SOS Children's Village, Marjina Gorka
2. Raised level of knowledge and skills of energy saving in household use as a result of complex educational activities for children, staff of SOS-Children's Village, Marjina Gorka, and specialists of wardship institutions.
5. Increased awareness of the local community and specialists of educational institutions of Pukhovichi district, Minsk oblast on the use of alternative energy sources (solar energy);
3. Disseminated information on results of the project and the activities of the GEF in the sphere of climate conservation and use of renewable energy sources at the local, national and international levels.
