Improvement of farming system to support ecosystem services in Satoyama landscape
The project will establish forest strips, count and restore the trees and bushes planted in the strips and monitor their growth. It will also organize trainings on how to use livestock manure for improving soil fertility, and review results of such trainings. The National Committee members noted that an agro forest is the first measure in protecting soil at a time when farmers are foregoing chemical fertilizers. They emphasized the need to give the project grantees professional advice.
