Conservation of Almond Trees through restoration of degraded orhards and Adoption of sustainable agricultural practices
The main objective of the project is the conservation of almond trees in Feghal through the restoration of degraded orchards and the adoption of sustainable agriculture practices, leading to improved livelihoods and ecosystem conditions. The specific objectives are to: 1) strengthen the capacity of almond growers to restore and manage their orchards; 2) conserve the tradition of almond production including the processing of almond fruit into ?Marsaban? to enhance/diversify the livelihoods of local women; and 3) replant native/adapted almond trees at scale and promote the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices. The primary beneficiaries of the project are almond growers and their families including women engaged in the production of ?Marsaban?. The project will be implemented by the Feghal Environmental Association in close cooperation with the Agricultural Cooperative of Feghal.
