The project forested around 20 hectares of land in Yakhdara Village of Kishem District in Badakhshan province by planting over 4,000 trees. In the forested area other local species of different plants and shrubs also emerged. A water reservoir was constructed and solar system to pump water from the nearby river was installed which ensured sustained irrigation to the forested area. The project also raised the awareness of communities of communities including youth and school children by convening a series of workshops and campaigns in the targeted area.

Most of the AES staff were youth who were employed by project and their capacity developed in this project. The project also created livelihoods opportunity for over 28 farmers. The project set a good model for replication in the area.
