Union of Afghanistan Youth was supported to implement Environmental Leadership and Awareness Initiative in 17 schools in Kabul city. With establishment of 17 Nature clubs, around 120 youth were networked, and this raised environment awareness of around 29,500 students including 40% of female students by preparing green profiles for all the schools, organizing students exchanges visits, planting around 6,000 saplings, commemorating world environment and biodiversity days. This initiative was implemented in close coordination with the Ministry of Education which is interested to upscale this initiative by extending it to other schools in Kabul and other provinces.
