Renewable solar energy for water heating in Novoaydar district of Lugansk region
The project is designed to demonstrate opportunities of alternative power sources and energy conservation technologies in terms of climate change mitigation. It is implemented in four green households in Novoaidar district which became temporary shelters for internally displaced people in Eastern Ukraine. Installed geliosystems is used for domestic purposes. Moreover, following implementation of the project the activities to raise public awareness in climate change, alternative power sources, energy conservation are conducted. As a result, it is expected to reduce CO2 emissions to 200 tons per year.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
An information campaign is held to raise public awareness on environmental matters with the help of information materials, workshops and lectures, public discussions and promotion of the GEF SGP activities.
Notable Community Participation
In the course of project?s implementation the public and local authorities address the issue of climate change and receive practical skills to combat negative ecological consequences.
