The project supported the need of establishing energy-efficient heating system in the households of Bilovodsk, Luhansk region which host internally displaced persons from Eastern Ukraine. As a result, the project has installed 15 solid fuel boilers in 15 households of Luhansk region, which helped decrease more than 8 tonnes of CO2 emissions for each household and 130 345 tonnes in total. The installation of energy-efficient technologies has facilitated saving of nearly UAH 18000 for heating purposes. Also, the project also supplied 15 packages of pellets for solid fuel boilers.
In order to raise public awareness about alternative energy and implementation of the initiative, the team held a project presentation and two round table discussions involving 123 people. They also distributed 2000 promotional brochures concerning environmental and cost-effective benefits of alternative energy sources among the communities. 161 people, of which 69 women, 56 men and 36 children have taken part in the project.
