- The project carried out all the activities foreseen in the Work Plan and exceeded the targets in some activities.
- The main highlights are the implantation of the model meliponário, realization of several capacities, visits of accompaniment and technical assistance, production of 1000 seedlings, strengthening of the Rede Néctar do Sertão, creation of 3 rotating solidarity funds and accomplishment of closing event and celebration of the project.
- 15 communities from the municipalities of Apuiarés and Pentecoste participate in the project.
- In total, the project had the participation of 40 families, composed of 11 women, 5 young people and 4 elderly people. 44 people underwent training.
- In total 60 ha are under project influence, of which 20 ha are under preservation and sustainable uses (bee pasture) and 40 ha are under recovery.
- The families that are raising bees are still in the multiplication phase of the swarms. However, in the last year they have already managed to generate income equivalent to R $ 1000 / family / year. In addition to producing honey, four people are producing and selling bees boxes, and billing up to $ 1200 a month each.
- An exchange was held for the UFC, where the exchange of knowledge between the meliponicultores, teachers and students took place.
- The project was publicized through the internet, banners and folders, as well as dissemination in the Nectar Network.
- Coordination reports that as benefits, the project generated greater community organization, generation of work and income, greater participation of women, preservation of the caatinga, invigorating investments through revolving funds and reducing the emission of garbage in the communities.
