This project aims to also contribute to the Palau national priority for strengthening food security as a priority to climate change adaptation measure and to provide the people of Hatohobei access to sufficient, safe, and nitrous food. In other words, the project aims to increase food security and enhance the livelihood of the people of Hatohobei with the following adaptation objectives:

OBJECTIVE 1: Clearing the overgrown taro patches in the Southern section of the island and replanting it with local saltwater resistant taros.

OBJECTIVE 2: Introducing different native fruit crops and planting on higher areas or elevated platforms to be more resistant to saltwater intrusion.

OBJECTIVE 3: Building the capacity of the people of Hatohobei by involving the youth and families living in Koror participate in a home gardening and taro patch training workshops and piloting of home gardens in the Echang Village.
