Project goals or objective (including GEF problem area addressed by project) :
Short term objectives :
1. To increase local community?s income through provision of sustainable supply of bamboos, to be used not only for religious/ceremonial purposes but also as raw materials for local arts and crafts.
2. To encourage ecotourism programme in Munduk village.
Long term objectives :
1. Bamboo planted along the riverbanks would serve as rain-catchment area, thus preserving the water and soils in the area.
2. To indirectly increase the bird population in Munduk area (with the return of bamboo forest).
Activities to be carried out under project :
1. Planting bamboos and fruit trees along the riverbanks.
2. Creating ecotourism programme with local community.
