Development of the Country Programme Strategy for Operational Phase 6 of the GEF Small Grants Programme in Belize

This project is to Develop the Country Programme Strategy for Operational Phase 6 of the GEF Small Grants Programme in Belize. This steps are as follows:
STEP ONE: The Consultation and Scoping Exercise has four primary objectives:
a) To take stock of the results and achievements of the SGP country program, thus far;
b) To identify the priority directions for programming in OP6 in line with GEF 6, SGP OP 6 Project document, national priorities, NSC Strategic Plan Workshop Report and potential for synergy with UNDP and other partner agencies;
c) To re-confirm the landscape/seascape area(s) of focus, with consideration given to SGP?s niche, opportunities, challenges and potential for synergies; and
d) To recommend opportunities for grant making outside the selected landscape/seascape area(s), including the identification of a typology of projects and criteria for prioritization of projects.
STEP TWO: The Selected Landscape and Seascape Areas Baseline Assessment will be implemented as follows:
a) Desktop review of relevant documents to identify current development issues, initiatives and programs for target areas;
b) Identify primary and secondary stakeholders in target areas for mapping; and
c) Draft Baseline Report: Prepare Baseline Report and present it to NSC.
STEP THREE: The Development of the Country Programme Strategy will include the following:
a) Drafting of CPS detailing Focal Areas Strategic Actions, Implementation Modalities and Monitoring and Evaluation Plan;
b) Validation of the Draft CPS with inclusion of comments and recommendations from consultation workshop; and
c) Presentation of CPS to NSC and Finalization of Document.
