The CBO based and located in Mt. Hagen Rural LLG of Western Highlands Province was approved a planning grant of US$3000 to help prepare the full proposal for the project titled ?Community Forest Corridor and Water Catchment Rehabilitation?. The initiative will contribute towards improved Sustainable Forest Management through forest rehabilitation and afforestation activities. The tree planting program will emphasize on protecting the water catchment areas and moreover improving agro-ecosystem services with the aim at sustaining the livelihoods of the local communities. Environmental awareness will be conducted to raise the importance of conserving the natural habitat and ecosystem for today and future generation.
