SGP will increase documentation, dissemination and information sharing on SGP methods, approaches, successes and lessons learned and will liaise with the OECS and CARICOM to provide input into the Policy Framework for natural resource management.

SGP will organize a national women?s forum and training seminars in collaboration with the UWI Open Campus, Bureau of Gender Affairs and the Dominica National Council of Women to discuss methods of mainstreaming women into the management and conservation of biodiversity. Knowledge products showcasing women in projects will be developed and outstanding women project leaders will be selected for peer exchanges and mentoring programmes.

SGP will work with local environmental clubs to incorporate their ideas into SGP thematic areas and will implement a special environmental outreach and educational program to include summer camps and book/kits activities for youth. Youth engagement in data collection will be undertaken as well as leadership training programmes on environmental issues and proposal writing to build their capacity. SGP will collaborate with DYEO/NYC/YDD to put on youth forum (s) on youth policy and actions plan to promote biodiversity.

The communication strategy will entail easier access to information and networking through the establishment of a clearing house and the development of partnerships with the media and other agencies/departments involved in educational and awareness building programmes. Programming will entail the use of television, radio programmes and social media. Activities will include an OP6 launch workshop to sensitise stakeholders and the public on OP6 priority programmes, engaging the youth in drama and song production, sensitizing the media on the programmes and projects of GEF SGP through workshops, field trips and press conferences, the staging of exhibitions and celebration of commemorative environmental days e.g. Earth Day, WED, WBD, WFD) in collaboration with other relevant stakeholders, Other planned initiatives include a quarterly publication in newspaper and provision of support to grantees to develop a fact sheet and case study reports of completed projects so to promote the work of SGP. This will be achieved with additional established staff or increased volunteers and interns available on a regular, ongoing basis.
