Alternate practices to control and check biomass and crop residue burning in open field in Western Uttar Pradesh.
Project Objective:
1. To check the burning practice of sugarcane leaves and paddy waste instead provide the farmers with rich organic manure for improvement in field soil, human health and environment.
2. Generate interest of the farmers in adopting the farming techniques/ practices and gaining skills to influence fellow farmers.
3. Using cost effective innovative model for composting approved by Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Organic farming Cell, GoI.
Project Activities:
1. Selection of Villages.
2. Construction of LR (Lalit- Raman) Compost pits & Filling the pits.
3. Establishment of Village knowledge Centre.
4. Preparation of Compost Pits.
5. Regular training and experience sharing meeting will be organized for promotion of organic farming and linkages.

Policy Impact
A cost effective innovative model for composting approved by Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, organic farming cell, GOI. Government schemes will be properly implemented in the region which will be useful in providing linkage with the rural banks. The learning?s will be shared with the concerned Government Departments.
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
Awareness and skill development of the farmers by establishing knowledge centre (including library, panels, resource material, audio- visual aids etc. A brochure will be prepared and distributed among the farming community. Media plays an important role in sharing information even in the remote rural areas which will be useful for information dissemination.
