Food Sovereignty through Women Leadership and Secure Agro Bio Diversity with Strengthening of Farmers’ Producer Company by Sustainable Business Model Approach
Project Objectives:
Primary-
1. Secure agro biodiversity and farmers right on land races (local crops)
2. Sustain the process of securing agro biodiversity with farmers right on land races by developing business model.
Specific:
1. Strengthen 'Baliraja Krishak Producer Company' to increase its business activity to motivate farmers to grow indigenous seed crop with organic practice.
2. Scale up the Krushakpanchayat program (farmers collective actions for securing traditional seeds, traditional knowledge, wisdom and organic practices).
3. Form crop wise farmer's club to process of registration of land races with the help of PPVFR act.
Project Activities:
Phase 1: Conduct experiments in organic farming and demonstrated trail plot of indigenous crop seed. Established seed bank to exchange traditional seed.
Phase 2: Worked for extend the process in 30 villages and accepted business model approach for further process to sustain the project.
The producer company need to be strengthened.
Project Results:
1. Strengthening Baliraja Krushak Producer Company economically in sound condition with establishing financial linkages with NABARD and other institutions.
2. Extension in organic production area.
3. Execution of self sustained seed bank.
4. Increase the no. of shareholders to 1000 from 306.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
2 workshops for capacity building of the group leaders will be held. Demonstration of indigenous seed crop with organic input will be done on the farmer?s field to get the clarity of the product and its usage. Training will be given to women farmers on value addition and processing of grain and NTFP. Exposure visit of Director Board and company staff on an initial phase of the project and training every six months.
Gender Focus
Both men and women are equally responsible in the process of commencing the project. Women will be given training on processing fruit and grain into products that will enhance the profits and will give income to additional number of women. A mela will be organized every year in each cluster where women will be motivated to present their skills and creativity and express their thought in the Mela.
