Establishment of energy willow seedbed to provide planting material for Ivano-Frankivsk region
Considering shortage of energy resources in Ukraine, the alternative energy source, namely, biomass, is becoming an efficient, eco-friendly and cost-effective option. The community of Kozari village in Ivano-Frankivsk region initiated an establishment of energy willow seedbed to provide biomass fuel for heating and hot water supply. Therefore, the project?s main goal is to provide green energy to the community. The project manages the following:
? Prepare and plant energy willow seedlings. The overall target is to create a 5 ha land plot in Kozari village for growing of energy willow on a regular basis.
? Hold workshops on planting of energy willow seedlings and a conference to spread information about the project and promote energy willow as an efficient energy source.
? Set up a web resource which communicates positive experience in this area and supports community initiatives on their way to sustainable development.
? Develop and distribute guidelines for farmers "Growing Energy Plants".
