Establishment of Center for promotion of sustainable approaches to recovery of Eastern region of Ukraine
Eastern region of Ukraine was affected by the conflict that caused significant socio-economic and environmental damage of the area. The region needs sustainable recovery action plan and mechanisms of its implementation as well as pilot projects promoting the best practices of sustainable developments in Eastern region of Ukraine. The project aims to establish Center for Promotion of Sustainable Approaches to Recovery of Eastern Region of Ukraine that helps to restore damaged areas of Ukraine in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project?s objectives are: implement pilot projects to improve environment in the East of Ukraine and create new jobs for the local community; conduct information campaign, including trainings, workshops and round table discussions for different target audiences with participation of recognized professionals; develop basin river recovery plan for Siversky Donets; establish advisory group of experts to provide consultations to the local community on energy-saving practices and opportunities to start a business; establish social institutions to ensure gender equality and life-long learning practices.
