The achieved results of the project:
1. Within the framework of the project, eight collection points from the population of energy-efficient mercury containing lighting products were organized in order to further test the mechanism of their utilization and processing. All collection points were located in the network of construction hypermarkets "Epicenter" in the following cities: Zaporizhya, Dnipro, Kherson, Kharkiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi.
2. A logistics scheme for the collection and disposal of lamps in hypermarkets was launched. During the project implementation 48834 mercury containing lighting products were brought to the recycling company. This reduces the ingress of 244,170 mg of mercury into the soil and groundwater.
3. Eight training seminars and a final presentation were held for 240 promoters and 100 members of the public to disseminate information on collection points for used mercury containing lighting products.
4. Information about the project was disseminated in the local media in order to raise the level of environmental awareness of community members, raise awareness on climate change, and posted on the sites http://noviysvit.org, http://molochay.org, http://widesteppe.org, http://ecomerezha.org and others.
5. Awareness of more than 100,000 people was raised through the collection of lamps.
