Organization of collection points for energy efficient lighting products containing mercury and development of the mechanism for its utilization
Lack of effective mechanisms for lighting products containing mercury management is a challenge for modern Ukraine. The project aims to address issues of collection, storage, transportation and disposal of lamps containing mercury in the country. Its main goal is to develop a comprehensive system for collection and transportation of light bulbs with their further disposal. In addition, an information campaign on energy-efficient lightening is held in the mass-market chains. The main project objectives are as follows: promote lamp disposal among local communities; increase demand for energy-efficient lightening and inform the community on its benefits; motivate community representatives to switch to energy-efficient lamps; raise public awareness on environmental issues and sustainable management of households.
