The project aims at raising awareness and building capacity on how climate change and other planetary challenges can be addressed; and how eco - village status can be achieved. Target beneficiaries are stakeholders from PECEN Villages, Government and Parastatal officials, and NGOs.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
A series of training and sensitization programs for central and local government officials, Village Heads, District Council Officials and National Assembly Members of the target communities are planned during the project implementation period.
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
Prior to the initiation of this project and after several consultations, workshops and sensitization programs in the target area, the Peoples' Coast Ecovillage Network was formed with membership from the target communities. This network is consulted periodically on environmental issues in the target communities.
