Youth for Environment: the future we want!
The main project goal consists of increasing the potential and raising the capacities of Ukrainian youth and children in implementing the international commitments on education for sustainable development and biodiversity as a national contribution to the global objectives of environmental protection, including the agenda of defined sustainable development goals. The capacity building of children and young people is conducted via competitions, trainings, preparation and organization of the All-Ukrainian Children's Forum and other events. To reach the main goal, the project activities are to be defined as the following:
- Carrying out a journalistic competition for the best article to the printed media on the topic "Convention on Biodiversity: Ukrainian Youth point of view";
- Creating a training on project management and providing a grant support for the sustainable development of the youth community;
- Developing and carrying out the Third Children's Forum "Youth for Environment: the future we want!" which will include a round table for teachers to discuss ways and mechanisms for active teachers involvement to the Convention on Biological Diversity as well as youths to introduce practical environmental activities at the local level via master classes, environmental actions, games, competitions etc.

Project Characteristics and Results
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
12 informational and educational events and actions were held for 650 people in Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkassy, Lugansk and Kyiv regions. In addition, presentation of the Network's achievements was held at the 12th meeting of the UNECE Steering Committee on Education for Sustainable Development in Geneva in April 2017. Participation in the event provided the dissemination of experience at the international level.
Policy Impact
Active work to raise public awareness, capacity building, development of practical skills involving children, young people, teachers and the public will be conducted to implement the Education for Sustainable Development in Ukraine and to carry on international obligations of Strategies and Action Plan on biodiversity under Convention on Biological Diversity.
