The project aims to significantly contribute towards reducing the vulnerability of farmers and rangeland users/managers in the target areas to seasonal variation in rainfall, fodder availability and drought.

This will be done through awareness creation, conducting training on the use of the LLM manual, conducting monthly professional backstopping meeting to LLM practitioners to help them with verifying data collected as well as conducting quarterly community meetings to facilitate the presentation of LLM results and the agreement on management options. It will also set-up a regular information service which disseminate rangeland status and livestock price information to farmers and rangeland users, as well as conducting training in rangeland management and livestock husbandry, livestock production and rangeland management.
