Project goal:
Protection of marine biodiversity and coral reefs habitat as well, by reducing dependency of community towards those natural resources


Project objective :
1. To provide options of reliable alternative source of income to community
2. To reduce disturbances by community towards natural resources available
3. To preserve marine biodiversity as well as coral reefs habitat
4. To avoid decreasing population of fish through rehabilation of coral reefs
5. To increase community?s awareness on nature conservation efforts (in this case : marine
and coastal ecosystem)
6. To increase community participation on naturae conservation effort by providing
technical assistance on culturing marine biota
7. To increase community?s income and welfare

Activities to be carried out under the project :

1. Preparation
a) Coordination with local government.
b) Coordination with local community (non-formal leader).
c) Setting demoplot

2. Local training and education in the field
a) Technology and techniques on coastal aquaculture
b) Environmental conservation (marine and coastal ecosystem) concept
c) Environmental Impact Assesment.

3. Outreach Approach
1. Networking with related government institution
2. Program socialization through meetings and workshops

4. Technical Assistance
a) Community Credit Union
b) Coastal aquaculture
c) Coral reefs rehabilitation and conservation.
d) Community based zonation system on coral reef management
