Significant results of the epidemiological study and genetic studies achieve. One out of 40 tested animals showed anti rabies antibodies. Horizontal transmission by direct contact could not be achieved. Intra-muscular vaccine trials produced very good result. All vaccinated animals developed high antibody titers. All animals survived the challenge infection. Oral vaccine trials proved that the vaccine could be taken up after oral administration, but antibody levels were too low to protect animals against challenge infection. Bait development and acceptance studies were very successful. All types of bait were readily taken by the experimental animals.
