Fofal River Command Area Development Project Part - 2
The purpose of the project is to stop run away of rain water with the help of series of check dams which ultimately will improvise land degradation, provide water for farming and improve forest cover of the region.

Project Characteristics and Results
Gender Focus
Both men and women will be equally involved in the process of project planning, execution and implementation and will be liable for equal share/benefits and wages. Increased participation of women will be there in the decision making policies. The entire construction will be done with local people's participation (finance/labour) under the supervision of the NGO as per the design approved by a qualified civil engineer. Community will be involved in completing the masonry work. People will also participate in planting trees near and around the project site. The women will be benefited as they will be able to save time and energy which can be used in other productive work.
Capacity - Building Component
Capacity of the villagers will be build for efficient irrigation. Water sharing groups will be formed and educated regarding the judicial use of water. Some of the villagers will be given training to measure the benefits.
