Enhancing forest community participation in green development
1. The project will train 150 members of forestry CBOs in Tuv, Bulgan, Selenge, Khentii and Darkhan-Uul aimags in technologies for cone processing, tree breeding, nature restoration, afforestation, use of forest resources, bee breeding, as well as bio-mash fodder production and its sale.
2. The project will plant a total of 9,000 trees in a protected area in Orkhon soum of Darkhan-Uul aimag and infrom 500 households on how to improve soil fertility through the use of dung and bio-mash fodder.
3. The project will organize a practical training for 25 residents of the above 5 aimags on how to create a nurturing environment for preparing dung and bio-mash fodder and planting various seedlings. The CBO members advised that the training present the recommendations made by a FAO training on the harm of using pesticides.
