Go Green Ahmadshah Baba Project in Kabul City
Go Green Ahmad Shah Baba Mena Project in Kabul is focusing on the the community based urban plantation and establishment of community network for environment protection. The project will reduce the air pollution and dust in the area. It will also help to increase the awareness of local people and promote the culture of plantation and greenery among urban dwellers in the target location.

Project Characteristics and Results
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
After a number of meetings with local elders and Shura, ABCO
representatives along with local influential elders conducted
consultations in local schools and in Mosques to promote
public awareness. Also, they have been encouraged to
participate in the campaign of plantation in the targeted area.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
As a part of the project, some activities have been carried out
to support the livelihood of local people. Around 40 vulnerable
people have been hired for more than 30 days as labor to level
the targeted area, prepared the area for plantation and plant
the saplings. In addition, five local persons have been hired
for long term to regularly irrigate the planted trees and do
the maintenance of the irrigation infrastructures.
