WHEREAS GEF/SGP has established and provided funding for a project, being ?Kokch River Conservation Initiative in Badakhshan?. The project is focusing on the raising the awareness of the communities to protect the river water pollution by supporting the communities in targeted locations. With the community participation, huge area will be planted to prevent land degradation and protect argriculture lands.

- Garden (Tree Planted) area will be sustained and can be a very good example from project sustainability - Home base nursery for women is a sustainable activities - Public awareness on Kookcha river water protecting from dirts and liquids through banners and and leaflets is can a very good result.
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
- Local language in printing of banners and bruchers for public awareness of Kookcha River will be used.
