River Bank Stabilisation and Reforestation
A PG was awarded to assist the grantee in designing a project for submission for a FG for implementation of a major agroforestry project in the Fond Watershed. The grantee will use a participatory approach which will include research, a vulnerability assessment, a feasibility study for a nursery and the preparation and signing of a agreements with landowners which will commit them to protection of all deforested areas. A major component of the project will be to develop strong partnerships with the Malgretoute Community Action Trust.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
A feasibility study will be undertaken for the establishment of a plant and forest nursery. If proven feasible, a business will be developed to donate and/or sell plants for reforestation along the East Coast of Saint Lucia.
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
As far as we know, there are no indigenous people in this part of Saint Lucia.
All interactions with the community will be in two languages, i.e., English and Kweyol.
