Aim of the project is to integrate conservation in the production systems in Waninda Parish, Mbale District in order to conserve critical ecosystems and reduce vulnerability of the communities to effects of climate change.

Focus will be on strengthening households to improve on land management and production. Both women and men will be trained on various technologies such as nursery tree management, wood saving and water harvesting. This will increase adoptions and sustenance of the technologies. Activities and benefits from the organization will be shared equally irrespective of their gender. At household level, members of WAFFA will be encouraged to involve their partners in decision making, share roles and benefits equitably to sustain their efforts.

WAFFA will mobilize and sensitize community about the project, coordinate the local community to participate in project activities related to fuel saving and agroforestry. WAFFA members will also identify resource persons to provide training, labour, time and land for project activities.
