YUTAFORD IMPROVING NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Project aims to empower and build capacity of local communities in natural resources management and business skills for sustainable natural resource based enterprise development in Yumbe District.
YUTAFORD will work with communities in Yumbe district to improve the micro-climate by planting trees; increase food production by planting early-maturing vegetable crops and fruit trees which can tolerate prolonged dry seasons; diversify sources of household income by strengthening bee-keeping activities as well as the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA). The proposed project will address two of the GEF SGP Focal Areas: Climate Change and Land Degradation.
