The project will establish 3 model sites protected by local residents. The goals of the project are as follows: create conditions for equal participation in sustainable use of natural resources by local herders, stimulate their interest, create an opportunity for local herders to derive direct revenue from natural resources, protect the environment by improving their livelihood with a source of income other than animal husbandry, reduce pasture burden and contribute to the development by the parties concerned of joint management of natural resources.
