The project location is West Arsi zone, Heban Arsi woreda, Ambo Goda Sade kebele. Heban Arsi woreda is located at Eastern part of Lake Langano. The woreda administration town is called Goljota. Its distance from Shashamane is 82km. Ambo Goda is 23km far from Goljota town. The kebele is relatively covered with large patches of natural forest. There are very attractive big trees next to Lake Langano. Total House holed male1200 female 400 total 1600 and total population of the Ambogoda Sade kebele's community: Male 2674 Female 3585 total 6259.
The target communities are involved in agriculture and livestock rearing. There are few people who are engage in fishery related activities. With the project to be supported by GEFSGP ANCEDA targets rehabilitation of degraded land through physical and biological activities. The project will also take stock of the natural resources, mainly forest. There are many mountains covered with forest. These areas include Laboba-Danabo100ha, Sala Eracho-Adare Goba 200ha, Cisa-Gishdansa 200ha, Ambo Goda-Atse 150ha,.QoroGasika 90ha, ShisaYuubdo 70ha, Garba Geto-Osole 80ha, totally 890ha of land is covered by natural forests. To get accurate data we will demarcate the whole area of the natural forest by using scientific tools, with the support of GEF SGP.It is observed that there are high pressure/encroachment on these mountains covered with natural forest.
