Community based agro forestry in sub-urban unproductive land
Project goal:
To maximilize the uses of unproductive land - through encouraging the community to execute polyculture farming system, using non-organic fertilizer

Project objective :
1. To raise community awareness of nature conservation effort
2. To enhance biodiversity concept application in farming the non-productive land
3. To increase community skill and knowledge in polyculture farming system
4. To enrich plants varieties planted with planting other local productive plants
5. To decrease the area of non-productive land and turn it to potential resources
6. To create new source of income opportunity for local community
7. To decrease dependency of using non-organic fertilizer
8. To increase community skill in managing waste and producing organic menure (as well as compost)



Activities to be carried out under the project :

1. Preparation.
a) Project socialization
b) Build network (with non-formal as well as formal leader)
c) Field survey (with community participation) - to determine the nature resources and community potentiality, needs and problems that they faced
d) Field survey - to make detailed location map
e) CBO?s forming
f) Tools and facilities preparation

2. Local training and education in the field.
a) Mentoring (project and survey?s result socialization)
b) Better land management techniques
c) Polyculture techniques
d) Waste management
e) Producing organic menure

3. Outreach Approach.
a) Network establishment

4. Technical Assistance.
a) Demoplot garden
b) Land preparation and mangement with regards to nature conservation concept
c) Planting and maintaining techniques
d) Harvesting (sustainable way) techniques

5. Evaluation and Reporting.
