Development of the Cassava Industry in Saint Lucia through Research, Education and the Integration of Environmental Principles in the entire Production Chain.
This project will attempt to improve the understanding of the agronomy of cassava while simultaneously addressing the environmental issues associated with cassava production and processing. At this Planning Grant stage the grantee will undertake secondary research, identify the the most sustainable production system, develop a strategic plan for the enhancement of production, processing and marketing of cassava, and undertake a capacity and capability assessment. It is expected that that Full Grant which emerges from this Planning Grant will contribute to the sustainable development of the cassava industry in Saint Lucia.
