SCALING RURAL ELECTRIFICATION IN LUDILU VILLAGE IN MAKETE DISTRICT.
Context:
Statistics show that only around 20% of the rural population has access to electricity. Ludilu in Makete district is one of the many villages in Tanzania without connection to electricity. REA plans to electrify all villages in Tanzania by 2025. While we wait for the REA target, it is noted that absence of electricity in this village has affected economic growth, impacted social services such as education and health as well as contributing to environmental degradation to the village. The envisaged project will supply power to Ludilu village community for domestic use and powering micro business activities and social services.
