SCALING-UP SUSTAINABLE CLIMATE SMART AGRO-ECOLOGY PRACTICES FOR ENHANCED FOOD SECURITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION IN SERENGETI ECOSYSTEM
SCALING-UP SUSTAINABLE CLIMATE SMART AGRO-ECOLOGY PRACTICES FOR ENHANCED FOOD SECURITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION IN SERENGETI ECOSYSTEM
Context:

The Serengeti Ecosystem (SE) is recognized as the world heritage site by UNESCO because of its large migratory animals and high diversity of birds and pre-history sites at Laetoli and Olduvai. However, it is wealthy noting that the flow of resources within the ecosystem have increasingly been challenged by increased populations, incidences of fire, extensive agricultural activities, land use changes and climatic changes which has resulted into competition over resource access, use and expose the ecosystem to extinction of key biodiversity services. This proposal therefore seeks to address biodiversity conservation challenges through addressing environmental conservation and food security challenges along the Serengeti ecosystem.

About the proponent:
