Disseminating the Environmental impact of Using Chemical in Agriculture in 2 Northern Provinces of Laos as Oudomxay and Borkeo Province
Huoyxai and Tonpherng district, Borkeo Province; Beng and Hun district, Oudomxay Province. These two provinces are affecting from using chemical fertilizer in agricultural activities, especially some projects that have agreement on land concession with villagers for agricultural cropping which is causing impacts on environment and livelihood of villagers. Previously, these areas are based on nature methods of cropping and farming, however in recently this 4-5 years an import of the forbidden agriculture material increasing day by day, that included chemical fertilizer, accelerate fertilizer, pesticides and etc., which is not allowed from the government side to import, but they still hidden to use those fertilizers to make the agriculture product increase. In opposite way, those who have knowledge on agriculture technique which can help and carry the message to the village are less and it is causing an increase on side effect to environment and livelihood of villagers more and more. The aim of project is to help raising awareness by disseminate information on reduce chemical usage in agriculture which will affect to their health and environment in long term through Lao Women mass media network.
