Increasing local community?s capacity and participation on wetland management of Kout Famaeb marsh project, Phapong village, Tha Phabard district, Bolikhamxay province.
Beuang Kutfarmap is a natural marsh located in Phapong village, Thapabath district, Bolikhamxay province. The marsh and livelihood of people in village are bound for several generations, their main occupation are farming, fishery, grow vegetable and animal farming. The marsh is also the food supplies and agricultural place for peoples in the village especially aquatic fauna and aquatic plants. In year 2000, Phapong village has designated the Beuang Kutfarmap as the conservation area. However, peoples still lack of knowledges on how to make a sustainable use of natural resources and regulation for protecting of the marsh were not appropriated. The aim of this project is to improve and strengthening the techniques on planning the use of natural resources from marsh in the right ways.
