The main goal of this project is to educate women within the Black Volta Basin on climate change and build their capacities to construct and use commercial and household level clean cook stoves

1.4.1 Objectives

The primary objectives for this project are to:

? decrease health related diseases associated with smoke inhalation to alleviate poor health of women involved in thermal processing in agro-business within the Busuama portion of the Black Volta Basin.
? promote the new improved stoves technology (commercial cookstoves) as an alternative to open fire stoves.
1.3 Project Outputs
Output 1: 40 women trained as trainers in environmental education on climate change

Output 2: 40 households and 20 business enterprises supported to construct and use clean cook stoves
1.5 Description of Project Activities
Output 1: 20 women trained as trainers in environmental education on climate change
Planned Activities
1.1 Identify 20 women within the project area
1.2 Train them in environmental education and climate change issues
1.3 Empower them to organize community level meetings for women on climate change issues
1.4 Organize community for a on climate change and biodiversity conservation
1.5 Support 20 households to construct clean stoves at household levels
Output 2: 40 households and 20 business enterprises supported to construct and use clean cook stoves
Planned Activities
2.1. Selected 5 women artisans and train them in the construction and maintenance clean stoves for cooking.
2.2. Support local enterprises in gari processing, pito brewing, Shea butter processing and chop bar operation to shift to improved clean stoves
2.3. Organize exhibition to demonstrate the benefits of clean stoves.
