Sustainable Employment Creation by the Young People Using Indigenous Fruits within and without the Qualibou Caldera.
A group of young unemployed persons came together with assistance from CARILED to confirm the viability of an indigenous fruit juice enterprise. This project now builds on this initial work and will meet the following objectives by the end of the project: (i) to build a fully functional and equipped booth which is solarized and will serve visitors to the Sulphur Springs by the end of the third month of the project; (ii) to increase sales by reaching a larger population through the use of two mobile carts by month 3; (iii) to improve the capacity of group members as the foundation for accountable management and excellence in customer service and sales by month four of the project; (iv) to build the capacity of two FJ group project managers and four young persons in Sale and Marketing of the business by month 3 of the project; and (v) to produce, launch and sell new products in the Soufriere Market by month 5 of the project. We expect this new enterprise to evolve and grow as it explores an untapped market with a high and growing demand.
