Strengthening the involvement of the local society in environment and agriculture activities in Jalboun surface catchment
The project activities include:

1- Conduct introductory workshop to introduce the project to the local community and the relevant ministries, institutions and non-governmental institutions;

2- Construct water harvesting dam and implementing half-moon water harvesting technique to encourage farmers to implement low-cost water harvesting suitable for agricultural land.

3- Select four sites? with an area of 2 dunums in each site? for implementing inter cropping demonstration farms to plant the herbal medicinal plants to sustain agricultural land and increase its productivity by increasing green area, increasing soil fertility, conserving plant biodiversity and combating desertification.

4- Raise the awareness of the local community ?men (60), women (80) and youth (80)?, especially the farmers about the importance of water harvesting and the techniques used. The four training sessions outlines: Preserving the ecosystem, preventing soil degradation and erosion and water harvesting techniques and producing leaflets on the project and water harvesting.

5- Produce video film and brochure on project activities, biodiversity, climate change and water harvesting

6- Conduct final workshop to evaluate the project

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
500 copies of the booklet and one video that describes project activities were prepared and distributed to disseminate the approaches and 0 techniques, that applied in the targeted area. All the activities of the project were posted on HWE Facebook profile and website, receiving input from the local communities such as the half-moon technique on how to apply it in their land
Capacity - Building Component
conducting two (training workshops, held in Faqooa' and Jalameh. Topics of training focused on: rainwater harvesting and inter cropping. Participants were distributed as 18 females and 14 males. The grantee team has conducted practical training for beneficiaries on both Half-moon and inter cropping activities (38 females, 26 males and 23 child's).
