Establishment of Integrated Recovery Resource Center
Activities
Key Outputs/Activities
1. Former Study
AHKMT would conduct study from 25 formers on crop season bases for study purpose. The data would collect from formers regarding the production of compost and the expenses of chemical fertilizer and pesticide expense.
2.
Regularize Waste collection System
Waste collection system would regularize in town and 50% organic waste would be collected from the town.
3. Community awareness sessions
Community awareness sessions would organize in different areas of Sakrand Town for mobilization and awareness of general community.
4. Enhancement of IRRC
The existence setup of IRRC would enhance through development of organic waste processing setup by the support of Sakrand Town. AHKMT would monitor and technical assist the construction process.
5. Waste transfer
All the collected organic waste would transfer to the IRRC. Collected waste would segregate and organic waste would process.
6. Waste processing
Organic waste would process in piling. Waste temperature would check twice a day.
7. Compost making
Organic waste would process for two months in piling. The waste would be converting on weekly basis and maintain their moisture and temperature for compost process.
9. Compost Marketing
Compost would provide to 100 formers for experiment in their fields. For this purpose 5000 compost bags would print and distribute in formers.
? 100 farmers would identify and trained on organic forming
? 100 acre land would use for model organic forming
Objective(s):
? Improve the sanitation situation in low income and marginalized communities
? To mobilize the community for adopting the 3R?s concept & zero waste approach
? Strengthen the capacity of Sakrand Town regarding SWM
? Sensitize the farmers regarding organic forming
? Promote organic compost utilization
? Discourage the chemical fertilizer
? Waste converts into organic compost
Expected project deliverables
1. Improve mechanism for waste collection in Sakrand Town.
2. Improved environment of the area by managing 5 ton organic waste daily basis
3. Different stakeholders involved and mobilized with the introduction of innovative techniques for solid waste management.
4. 100 formers would oriented regarding organic forming and use the compost in their fields for 100 acre land
5. Waste reduction from the neighboring areas by converting the different waste streams into resources.
6. According to the project aawareness raising activities in all wards 1000 HH of Sakrand Town.
7. The awareness sessions would focus on women and children. They are most vulnerable and effected by lack of sanitation facility from the community.
8. Waste management and cultivating is basic issue of the women therefore AHKMT would aware and sensitize almost 60% women of the target area for aware and sensitize regarding SWM and organic forming.
