Objectives:
The overall objective of the proposed project is to promote ecotourism in South Punjab region thus working towards environmental issues and protection of endangered species.

Specifically, the project is designed to deliver the following three key objectives:

1. To establish a low cost and energy efficient Ecotourism Resort with safe accommodation and restaurant facility at Kot Mithan adjacent to the shrine of Khawaja Ghulam Farid.
2. To establish a state of the art Environment Friendly Products Display & Sale Center at the premises of ecotourism resort.
3. To educate and mobilize tourists and local communities for Protection of Endangered Indus Blind Dolphin under the overall coordination and facilitation of ecotourism resort.

Activities:
1. Organize a one-day project launching seminar at the premises of the tomb of Khawaja Ghulam Farid with participation of 200 key stakeholders with focus on introduction of project and its activities.

finalize technical feasibility and design of the building of Ecotourism Resort in consultation with project team, UNDP-SGP team, local government officials and other key relevant stakeholders.
3. Identify and select the contractor for construction of the building of Ecotourism Resort through competitive bidding process informed through the procurement policy of KFF.
4. Construct the building of Ecotourism Resort near the shrine of Khawaja Ghulam Farid with having key features on environment friendly, energy efficiency and lost cost techniques and materials.
5. Organize a grand ceremony of opening of Ecotourism Resort after the completion of the resort featuring participation of key representatives of key stakeholder groups and local community.
6. Procure the required items and equipment for establishing ?Environment Friendly Products Display & Sale Center? within the premises of the building of Ecotourism Resort.
7. Set up ?Environment Friendly Products Display & Sale Center? at the premises of ecotourism resort for promotion of eco-friendly products and models amongst the local people and the tourists.
8. Organize 12 half-day awareness & marketing sessions for promotion of ?Environment Friendly Products Display & Sale Center? attracting around 600 visitors who take keen interest in buying the eco-friendly products.
9. Develop & print Information Education Communication (IEC) material related to Protection of Endangered Indus Blind Dolphin
10. Conduct 18 half-day community awareness sessions in local communities for Protection of Endangered Indus Blind Dolphin where an estimated 1800 people attend including women and youth.
11. Organize guided tours for tourists to the site of Indus river where the Indus Blind Dolphin is concentrated for awareness raising and sensitization for the protection of this endangered species.
