Solar energy for local community development
The goal of the project is to raise awareness of the community regarding energy conservation and the use of alternative energy sources, in particular, solar energy for the electricity generation. The practical task is to introduce demonstration project on the solar batteries installation for indoor and outdoor lighting and replacement of incandescent lamps by the LED lamps to reduce energy consumption at the Center for Complex Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons of Melitopol City Council (Zaporizhya Region).

Project Characteristics and Results
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
A demonstration project on installing the solar batteries for indoor and outdoor lighting (total power is 5 kW) and replacing 318 internal and 18 external incandescent lamps by the LED lamps at the Center for Complex Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Region) was realized. Thus, the reduction of emissions into the atmosphere is 48,13344 tons of CO2-eq/year. In addition, costs are saved in the amount of 62,089 UAH per year.
