The majority of the population in the Republic lives in rural areas, and adequate supply of clean energy constitutes the basis for sustainable development in rural areas and ensures the rational use of natural resources. The integrated use of non-traditional alternative energy sources (AES) would successfully address many of the problems of power generation and environmental protection. At present, given the crisis in the country, the high cost of electricity and AES equipment, the organization decided to introduce improvised handmade solar water heaters, which are of no lower quality comparing to fabric water heaters, and are of very affordable price for the rural inhabitants of the Shaartuz district. Thus, Public Organization "Alternativa" intends to launch a project to train wives and daughters of migrants on the manufacturing of solar water heaters, with a view of establishing a solar water heater manufacturing workshop in the future.
