Project goal:
Demoplot establishment for medical plants cultivation and gene-plasma collection garden
Project objective :
1. To establish a demoplot site as a pilot to conserve rare medical plants;
2. To establish a gene-plasma collection as a conservation effort;
3. To cultivate and preserve medical plants;
4. To distribute the seeds and saplings of medical plants to the community;
5. To plant community yards with a useful plantations.
Activities to be carried out under the project :
1. Preparation.
a) Introduction of the activities to the community;
b) Land preparation;
c) Seedlings and saplings preparation.
2. Local training and education in the field.
a) Seedlings and saplings techniques;
b) Cultivation techniques;
c) Preserving techniques;
d) Harvest and post-harvest techniques.
3. Outreach Approach.
a) Establishment of collection garden for rare medical plants as a Gene-plasma bank; the success result will be replicated in other and larger areas
4. Technical Assistance.
a) Cultivation techniques;
b) Harvest and post-harvest techniques.
5. Evaluation and Reporting.
