Project Characteristics and Results
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
A GEF-SGP website is designed, hosted and maintained by SLEES. A comprehensive database of all GEF- SGP projects launched in Sri Lanka over past 20 years is included in the website. Photos, videos, photo stories, case studies, newspaper articles & reports published since the beginning of GEF SGP in Sri Lanka are collected and uploaded in the web site. A Case Study book will be published based on successful projects. Social media websites are used to raise public attention of both local and global issues regarding the environment. Newspaper articles on successful GEF projects are published on leading newspapers. A national level symposium will be organized for the GEF-SGP network for sharing of important findings, knowledge products and lessons learnt.
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
As Knowledge management is the primary role of the project, all information about the grantee projects are recorded for future use. Case studies will be written and a booklet of selected case studies will be published. Impact Evaluation Reports will be created for projects with detailed information on results and impacts. GIS maps will be created for all projects depicting the distribution of project activities throughout the landscape. Support will be given to the GEF-SGP office to prepare the Annual Monitoring Reports (AMR) and the Mid Term Reports (MTRs). Fact sheets and brochures will be created which are related to the grantee projects. Monthly e- newsletters are created to share news and project activities of the landscape. A photographic database has been created for the projects to capture project activities. The photos will be later used to create photo stories to be shared through social media. A knowledge sharing symposium will be organized with the support of other knowledge management grantees to showcase, evaluate and share grantee project activities of the landscape.
